Nicole Solis-Sison (she/her) is an artist, creative director, producer and educator focused on cultural equity, diversity and sustainability in digital discourse across art, media and film industries. Solis-Sison is a proud founding member of the Undocumented Filmmakers Collective.

Reframing and reclaiming narratives are integral to her work in changing the way we view and engage in our communities. Solis-Sison’s art practice encapsulates different mediums focusing on engagement through human interaction and social discourse. Her passion for shaping the future of sustainability in the fashion industry has inspired her to create an installation called Zero Waste Cart, has been sponsored by the Sierra Club and San Francisco’s Urban City Planning. Overtime, Zero Waste Cart as evolved into more than a physical sculpture and into a mobile app now available at the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Her emphasis in digital content production strategy has paved the way for brands, talent agencies and digital creators to streamline their content in emerging markets with her role as creative director at Matter Media Group. Solis-Sison takes her expertise to educate the next generation of content creators, musicians, artists, brands, marketers and entrepreneurs as a digital content marketing instructor at General Assembly and the Hip Hop CommUniversity. Solis-Sison has collaboratively developed the first augmented reality dressing room application for Gap in partnership with Google.

More recently, her practice has shifted to transform the entertainment and media industry as an organizer, creating career opportunities for undocumented and DACA recipients in the arts. This prompted her to become a founding member of the Undocumented Filmmakers Collective, a nationwide organization that tackles systemic inequities that undocumented immigrants face in the field of film making, by centering the expertise of undocumented people not only as sources of stories but more importantly as creators, artists and primary audiences.

Solis-Sison’s works have been displayed at Yerba Buena Center of the Arts in San Francisco, California; The 14th Factory, Los Angeles, California; MOCA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, California; the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington D.C.
